Upper Campus Parent Portal Walkthrough

This guide is designed to help Upper Campus Parents navigate the Portal.

 

There are 2 easy ways to reach the Sierra Canyon Portal:

1. The direct address is portal.sierracanyonschool.org.

or

2. Click on "mySC" (Circled in red below) from the front page of our website.

On the sign in page please enter login credentials. Parents will use the same credentials as created during the application process.

After logging in, you will land on the Resources page.

To view your student(s), in the top right corner click on your student's name (or children if more than one student is enrolled).

The Student Progress page is now displayed. 

Starting with the left side of the page. Areas of discussion are circled in red.

Under "Performance" students and parents can find report cards as they are released.

To view a previous year's report card, schedule, class pages etc. please change the grade to the grade level desired under Select Grade. *Please note only data for the 2015-16 school year and after is available through the portal.

Class pages are listed under "Courses." On the left side of the Courses header, you will find a switch for 1st and 2nd semester. Class pages can be accessed by clicking on the name of the course (covered in more detail below). If a student or parent needs to communicate with a teacher, the teacher's contact information is listed across from their class page. 

On the right side of the Student Progress page is the "Attendance Summary." Here attendance (absences and tardies) are recorded for the semester. *Please note that absence is marked per class and not per day. If there are 7 classes in a students schedule for a day, 7 absences will be displayed. Attendance resets at the beginning of each semester.

At the top of the webpage, there is a link for "Schedule." This module is very useful during the first few days of school. *Note: You must be looking at a month where a schedule occurs (i.e. July is blank as there is no schedule).

To add the schedule to another program such as Outlook or the calendar on your phone, click the export button (circled in red above).

There are many options for importing the schedule into the device or app of your choice. 

 

Class pages are important places that should be checked frequently. These pages contain information such as important class Announcements, Topics for Review, and Assignments.

Jumping to the "Assignment" tab for this class brings up image below. Missed assignments show up in red and are listed as overdue. Only assignments that are not passed their due date are displayed by default. To view previous assignments be sure to change the date view to "previous," circled in red.
