Disable Blackbaud Google SSO

Disable Blackbaud Google SSO

I no longer want to use "Sign in with Google" to log into Blackbaud.com and my Blackbaud ID enabled solution(s)

Users can configure Sign in with Google for their Blackbaud ID to give Google control of their authentication for their account. Users who wish to disable this authentication type will need to follow the steps within this article to disable Google Authentication.
Other users may need to disable Google Authentication due to errors they are receiving when attempting to reset their password or change their email address from Blackbaud.com such as : Error: You registered your Blackbaud account using Google. We cannot change your email just yet.- when changing my email address. OR
Error: We received a request to reset your password but noticed that this Blackbaud account uses Google to sign in. Rather than change your password, sign in with Google.

Answer:

If you are receiving the message "This email address is associated with a Google account, click Sign in with Google below" or something similar, at some point you selected "Sign in with Google" and delegated administration of your credentials to Google. In order to disable Google Authentication for your Blackbaud.com account, you must access your own BBID profile and select Disable for Google authentication. Please keep in mind that a Google account and the Sign in with Google option does not require a gmail.com email address because a Google account can be created with any email address.
Note: Due to security and compliance restrictions, Blackbaud is unable to disable Google authentication on behalf of a user.
Warning: If planning to disable or delete your Google account, you must follow the steps below to disable Google Authentication BEFORE disabling or deleting your Google Account. Failure to do so may result in being unable to access your Blackbaud ID account, Blackbaud ID enabled solutions, and Blackbaud Training.

  2. Under the tile for Blackbaud ID use the pencil icon to EDIT

Tip: If you click Sign in with Google at any point in the future, this will convert you back to signing in with Google and you'll have to go through this process again.
If you no longer know your Google password or if your Google account has been deleted, you will need to go through Google's account recovery process:

  2. Go to Google.com.
  3. Click “Sign In” in the upper right corner. (blue button)
  4. Type your email into the email box, and click next.

  7. If that doesn’t work, you may be prompted to obtain a security code from a backup email address you may have provided when signing up for your Google account.
  8. If that doesn’t work, you may be prompted to answer a security question you set up when signing up for your Google account.
  9. If that doesn’t work, you will be prompted to provide a current, alternate email address that Google Support can contact you at to assist with accessing your Google account.
