In order to provide a more secure experience, Blackbaud is now requiring all users to login to the Sierra Canyon Portal with a verified email address, also known as a Blackbaud ID (BBID).  By default, Blackbaud will select the Primary email address from your Portal Contact Card to be used as your BBID, but if you prefer, you may specify a different email address during sign up.

Note:  If you select a different email address as your BBID than the one we have on file for you, it will only be used for login and password reset links: Your contact email addresses will not change, and school mailings will not be sent to that address unless you ask us to do so.

Action is required to convert your legacy username to a BBID.

Put simply, the process involves:

• Opening an email invitation (subject line "Connect to Sierra Canyon School: Set up your Blackbaud ID for Portal login") and clicking the "Accept Invitation" button
• Selecting a strong password with a minimum of 12 characters from at least 3 of the following 4 categories:
  • Uppercase letters
  • Lowercase letters
  • Numbers
  • Special characters (!, #, %, etc.)
• Entering a 6-digit code sent to your email address to verify the account
• Signing in with the new BBID

For a limited time (ends September 27, 2022), you can instead simply sign in with your old username (e.g. oysterman27), and you will receive a notification that your account is being converted to a BBID and be taken through the same process as the one described above.

Getting started

• Look in the inbox of your primary email address for your BBID invitation and click the "Accept Invitation" button

• You will be taken to the BBID Sign Up page. Fill in the form and click “Sign Up” when done.

• An email containing a 6-digit code with the subject line "Verify your email address" will be sent to the same email address

• Retrieve the 6-digit code and either type or copy-and-paste it into the “Accept Invitation” screen and click “Next”

• You will be redirected to the Portal login screen.  Enter your BBID to login and click “Next,” to be directed to the BBID sign in page

• Enter your BBID and new, strong password and click “Remember my email” so that you won’t have to type it each time.  In the future, if you forget your password, simply click "Forgot Password?" to have a reset link sent to your BBID email address.  You can also select "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple" and use your Gmail or Apple ID address to sign in. If you select either of these options, you will be redirected to the respective provider to sign in.
