Welcome to the Sierra Canyon Student Portal! Here you can open assignments and submit completed homework directly to your teachers.
Important note: If multiple people are using the same device to login to Portal, you must use private browsing (called Incognito Mode in Chrome, Private in Safari and Firefox, and InPrivate in Microsoft Edge). This will keep logins sequestered from each other, preventing browser confusion when logging in.
You should have received an email containing your (or your student's) username and password. If not, please contact Helpdesk@sierracanyonschool.org
The format for student credentials is as follows:
Username: firstname.lastname
Email address: firstname.lastname@scsstudent.org
First, let’s get you logged in:
After clicking "Next," you will be redirected to the Sierra Canyon School Sign-In page.
You will see the Portal Welcome screen below. This helpful getting started guide will appear at each login, unless you click "Don't show this again" in the lower left corner
Assignment Center, located in the menu bar at the top of the screen, will take you to a listing of all assignments, by course.
The Assignment Center is only for assignments. Topics, such as Recorded Lessons, can still be accessed via the Classes pulldown (e.g "+Portal 4 - 1").
The assignment list that appears will display the course, name and type of assignment (e.g. "Homework," "Writing Assignment," etc.), date assigned, and due date, as well as a "Submit" link that allows easy assignment submission directly to the teacher.
Clicking the assignment name will display more detailed instructions, as well as an area for submission. For example, the teacher may request that work be entered directly into the Online Submission Text field, or by uploading a file. The Assignment Center can accept a wide range of file formats, including media files. However, use of common formats (e.g. PDF, Word, Excel, etc) will ensure that the teacher will be able to easily open submissions.
After submitting your work, the Status field for assignment in question will change from "To-Do" to "Completed." After the teacher reviews the work, the status will be changed to "Graded" indicating that any comments added by the teacher will now be available. Be sure to check back often!
